The TL is simultaneously Acura, yet wholly unique. The TL features Acura’s signature front grille and “Keen Edge” design philosophy, which blends sharp edges and machined surfaces with natural, free-flowing design elements. Other details include bright Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) projector-beam front headlights, pronounced wheel arches, and genuine stainless-steel body trim.
Both engines use Acura’s VTEC® system, which stands for Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control. VTEC is a little like having an on-demand racing camshaft to give you high-rpm power without compromising low-rpm torque. When engine speed reaches a designated rpm, the intake valves open deeper and longer to enhance airflow and allow the TL to continue to build horsepower at levels where other engines may run out of steam.
